Most of want to have a work life balance but it can be a difficult especially when your to do list endless and you are overwhelmed.
We have prepared a a few tips to get you on track this year:
Categorise your Master to do list and organise your weekly schedule - Individuals can spend so much time procrastinating, this happens when you have too much to do and not sure where to begin. The time you can save by planning ahead and organising your week will be so invaluable. It all starts from a Master To Do List that is organised into 4 Categories, such as Urgent Task, Non Urgent but Important tasks, Non urgent tasks that can be delegated and Tasks that just need to be dumped.
Just do it - After you have your weekly schedule, it's time to get on with the work within the hours you have available. Work on only the important tasks planned for each day, as new tasks pop up you just add to your master to do list and prioritize it into your schedule depending on its importance. And keep repeating this process daily.
Learn to delegate - Many hands make light work! Your business will run smoothly and efficiently if you delegate to the right people and let them get on with it.
Plan some personal time to stay healthy - Your weekly schedule should include time for you. This is different for each of us, it can be a daily walk to get some fresh air or going for a run, playing a sport or going to the gym. It's so important to focus on yourself but this is sometimes easier said than done, but remember keeping healthy will help your mind cope with the stresses and pressures of running a business.
Take holidays - Holidays are great for allowing you to reset your thinking and refresh your mind. Encourage your staff to do the same, this is great for team moral! Most importantly schedule these in the diary in advance.
Get regular medical check-ups - It can be difficult to see the signs of being overworked when you’re too busy concentrating on all the things you need to get done. Regular check-ups will keep your mind and body in check.
Switch off - At the end of the day and in the weekends, learn how to switch off properly, don't be working on the evening and weekends so you can create some mind freedom and be present when it comes to family and friends time.
Running a business can be rewarding but also overwhelming - If you are feeling the strain, we can help by ensuring you get organised and create that clarity to work towards your personal and business goals.
