New Furlough Scheme
Due to Lockdown in the UK, The Coronavirus Job Retention Scheme has been extended until 30th September 2021.
Relevant for limited company businesses and sole traders registered for PAYE and have made RTI submissions to HMRC before 30th October 2020.
You can apply if your business has been affected by coronavirus. The grant covers employees who have been furloughed due to the pandemic. The New Furlough Scheme will pay 80% of the usual wages (capped at £2,500) for unworked hours as long as the employee was on your PAYE RTI submissions on or before 30th October 2020.
You can claim up to 14 days in advance and receive the funds in 6 working days.
You must have a contract of employment, equality, and discrimination Laws
From 1 July 2021, the level of grant will be reduced, and you will be asked to contribute towards the cost of your furloughed employees’ wages.
Keep the written agreement for 5 years
Keep a record of worked and unworked hours
When the staff are on furlough leave, the employee cannot be doing any work for your organisation.
Employees can participate in training or volunteer work at other organisations if the contract allows it.
If wanting to claim for furlough days in March, it must be made by 14th April 2021
